Geoff Wilson commenced practice as a sole practitioner in 1988 having spent several years as an employee solicitor in several large Melbourne firms.

Geoff's practice initially focussed on individual clients' needs in the health and education sector.  A second partner soon joined the firm to provide expanded services to individual clients and to allow Geoff to focus on expansion into commercial law advice and litigation for small- medium businesses, professional associations, charities, the not for profit sector and aged care.

In 1994 a third partner joined the practice to assist the expansion of business law and other areas.  The firm became known as Wilson Potter Nicholson.

In 2001 Geoff decided to leave the firm he founded and established Wilsons Lawyers Pty Ltd. His decision was based on a desire to take a new direction and build a boutique firm which:

1. Was founded on contemporary core values.

2. Focused on Family Law.

3. Provided excellent service in Family Law, Commercial Litigation and Aged Care & Health Law

In 2002 Melanie Davison came to Wilsons in response to client needs in family law. Our Family Law team continues to grow and enjoy success for our clients. 

In 2008 Bob Umbers came to Wilsons to further expand our family law practice.

In 2009 David Davis joined us and extended our range of services to include estate and business succession planning
